We have now merged with the IBM Wine Appreciation Society, but have retained the North Hampshire WIne Society name. Our meetings will continue in 2023, but will be on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 19:30. The new website (with the NHWS branding) can be found by following this link and will have details of the meetings, how to join the society and/or attend as a guest. This site will be maintained as an archive for the time being, but we expect to migrate much of the valuable content to the new web site.

Please see the statement on the "About Us" page to see how we hope to handle any concerns about the Covid-19 situation

Welcome

The NHWS is a friendly and informal group of around 20 people who get together once a month to enjoy a glass (or several) of wine.

You don’t need to know anything about wine to come along. After all, the whole idea of the tastings is for us all to learn something as well as enjoy a social evening …. and (if you're not driving) leave a little less sober than you arrived.

You don't even need to be a member, although there are clear benefits to membership (discount on tastings, monthly newsletter, input to the running of the society).

We have a broad range of ages so, no matter how old or young you are, you won't feel out of place.

We usually meet at 7.45pm on the fourth Wednesday of the month for pre-meeting drinks with the presentation starting at 8pm. You will find us in the Chapter Room, St. Michaels Church Rooms, Church Square, Basingstoke, RG21 7QW. This building is found behind St. Michaels Church on Church Street, and has ample parking.

Click here for an aerial/map view of the location.

Basingstoke is easily reached from Camberley, Hook, Hartley Wintney, Odiham, Alton, Andover, Winchester, Newbury, Fleet and Farnham. We have members from all of these areas.
